This was humbling. I felt like a dog with the "cone of shame" in my knee high compression socks, limping along. I should have a better attitude. I know. Anyway, it hurt. But as long as I stayed slower than 8:30 it seemed to be manageable. To make it entertaining, shortly after mile 1 finished I went to nose breathing. Ran at nose-breathe pace the remainder, even down to an 8:15 uphill finish for .75. That was interesting.

Good solid run, Aric. Haven't tried just nose-breathing while running.

Keith, it's a sure way to know if you're running super easy.

I have a friend who suggested I run with a mouthful of water to practice nose breathing.

Why would you practice it? Seriously, when you need more air you breathe through your mouth! I was just doing this to prove to myself that I was not working even a little. Plus I've been drinking tonight and I'm feeling feisty. :)
