MUCH BETTER. I would have thought last night didn't happen. Hit the ground feeling bouncy and light. Four miles at roughly a steady state pace, flirting with tempo pace at the end. Not a hint of fatigue in the legs. I finished feeling like "that's it?" I'm going to try to run a few more tonight. And I may, as Tim M. suggested, try my track workout later in the week. Obviously the heat was the main problem last night. 7:40, 7:14, 7:12, 7:05

Nice progression. You still got a decent amount of quality work in this week. I would bag redoing the track workout and just continue next week.

We'll see. Today's run is just barely touching tempo pace (if that), and fairly short so I should have lots of juice left if I want to try something on maybe Thursday. I'm still really early in the cycle so a few botched hard workouts are not a big problem, I think.

I am like you and hate to miss sessions. Just remember that the training cycle is long and it wasn't like you missed the workout altogether. You still got 2/3 of it done. But I know how you feel and sometimes redemption is what is needed.

Yes, Lynn. The only explanation that I have is that the heat caused me to run at far below my actual ability and thus I didn't actually get a real workout last night. Which I think is pretty likely. I've still got a ton of energy today but I've unfortunately missed my window for a double.
