  1. RUN
    great 1.99 mi 00:24 11:52 pace

Nice fresh evening run, though a little shorter than I’d like. Happy to get out and run!

  2. FIT
good Winding trails, two green loops 3.4 mi 00:01:40 00:29 pace

What a work out! I forget how much I like cc skiing until I get out and get into the rhythm of it, but it is a great way to get out and enjoy winter while burning a lot of calories :)

  3. RUN
    Treadmill 1.51 mi 00:17 11:15 pace

Wasn't feeling so good, so stopped early and did some strength training.

  4. RUN
    Treadmill 2.31 mi 00:25 10:49 pace

Felt better than previously, but still ended a little earlier since I didn't feel super.

  5. FIT
good West Hartford reservoir 3.5 mi 01:00 17:08 pace

I should get outside more often. Especially to go for brisk walks with my husband :)

  6. RUN
    alright Treadmill 1.74 mi 00:21 12:04 pace

First run in about 6 weeks - took it easy, but my hip started bothering me maybe 15 minutes (or later) so I cut my run short. But it was good to get moving again!

  7. RUN
alright West Hartford Mitten Run 3.1 mi 00:28 09:00 pace

It was pretty cold today, and I don't feel I ran my best, but 27:55 is nonetheless a PR for me :) My time for this run last year was 28:59, so a solid improvement. I'm happy!

  8. RUN
    good Treadmill 2.69 mi 00:25 09:17 pace

I was really tired before I got to the gym, but once I started running I felt really good. Based on the initial tiredness and the race I'm running on Sunday, I decided to shorten the amount o... read more

  9. RUN
    good Treadmill 3.12 mi 00:30 09:37 pace

Felt pretty good and was glad to see that I was keeping a decent treadmill pace, which is normally a little slower than I run outside, at least based on dailymile's calculations.

  10. RUN
good Up to White St 2.35 mi 00:22 09:25 pace

Ran with Ben today, felt pretty good, took it a little easier than yesterday. Unlike even a year ago I can keep up with him. In fact I deliberately stayed a little slower than I knew I could go. Wh... read more

  11. RUN
Up to Park Road full 5k 3.12 mi 00:28 08:51 pace

Felt pretty good this morning. Challenged myself to keep a pretty fast pace, though I think I slowed down a bit in the last third.

  12. RUN
alright Up to Park Road full 5k 3.12 mi 00:29 09:16 pace

It was good to get out even though the weather as cold and I was feeling 100%.

  13. RUN
    blah Treadmill 3.07 mi 00:30 09:46 pace

Felt fatigued but it was good to get running again.

  14. RUN
alright Up to Park Road full 5k 3.12 mi 00:29 09:10 pace

Tough week at work, so it was good to get out and run, but I was really tired. Nice weather.

  15. So this is fun and of possible interest to people who care about VO2max and fitness. This is a fitness age calculator from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology: ... read more

As a physiologist and someone who has studied and measured vo2max in a lab, I am skeptical of this calculator... :)

I think your skepticism is valid and I was hoping you'd weigh in. I found out about it in this article in the NYTimes. I doubt I have the fitness of an average teenager, but then, I wouldn't have fared so well on this test as a teenager, so it's hard to say. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/10/31/how-old-is-your-health/?_r=0

I think this calculator is funny. I showed it to Deb too, after it projected the SAME VO2max as the more legit calculators do. I wanted to know how they got that number without having a near max effort to go off of.

  16. RUN
Reverse up to ParkRoad full 5ki 3.07 mi 00:28 09:03 pace

I read that positive self-talk while running can help increase endurance... I don't know if that helped me much but it wasn't bad either.

  17. RUN
    alright Treadmill 3.1 mi 00:30 09:40 pace

I felt tired before I started running, but felt pretty good during. Managed to run at 7 mph for about 2.5 minutes in the middle (I worked up to this from 5.5 mph) and then dialed back, unevenly, fo... read more

  18. RUN
great Up to Park Road full 5k 3.12 mi 00:28 09:03 pace

It was sunny and mild so I made myself go out even though I had felt really tired from a long work week. Felt really good from the start and knew I was running really well since I was ahead of time... read more

  19. RUN
    alright Treadmill 3.01 mi 00:30 09:58 pace

Not bad, considering I started out feeling tired from going to bed late last night. I didn't think I'd finish the 30 minutes I'd set for myself, but despite a couple of slow downs to... read more

Another good run today; felt a little slow for the first mile but second felt good; end mile not too bad. Will be trying to improve on this time for the next month.
