For some reason I like running out in the elements. Yes it slows you down, but at the same time, makes you feel hardcore. I ran a 5-mile figure eight loop twice, around the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Concord, MA. All trails save for one small stretch of road. Parking lot at the 'cross over' part of the figure eight, with a restroom. I recommend it :-) Had a pair of shoes in the car for emergency shoe changing options but ran in the new trail shoes with orthotics without issues. Think I'm ready for the half on Saturday. Now off to date night at Craigie's on Main with my husband who's been a rockstar today cleaning the house and letting me run.
