Wonderful swim with a friend at 7am. The way out was harder, I hyperventilated a bit. I think it was the mental side of the first open water swim of the year. I did much better on the way back, fou... read more

As Katie said, it was insane. And I did feel like crying. I don't usually expect to feel this bad after a long run but today I'm cranky, swollen and feel like hungover. Except I didn't have a drink.

Wish more races were like this. I cringe at races with cans full of plastic water bottles going to the landfill.

So hopefully I can go back to my two in the trailer (40lbs + 50 lbs + 30lbs trailer weight) and one on the backseat (30lbs) setup this summer. Thank heavens for lightweight kids.

I have no idea how you do it! My 4 yr old takes after her father and is mega tall and 50lbs, my 2 yr old is 28 lbs, but there is no way I could pull them both behind me anymore. It'd be snail pace for sure. Congrats on the new score!
