Yes, horse trails. Not the best trails. Pretty rough in some spots and they haven't mowed so the grass is almost waist high on me. I like them best in the winter. Let me know if you ever want to run there. I'll show you around!

I see them in Spring Hill every now and again. He was quite a ways from the creek but it's been really moist. There is a few ponds in that area too. I hope he made it to wherever he was going!

Gotta get my butt used to biking! Hoping the new padded seat helps. Want to do a few day and/or weekend bike trips on some trails.

  6. TRAIL RUNNERS---How often do you encounter snakes when running? I've got to figure out how to get over my horrible fear of snakes. Suggestions?

Right now, I see them daily sunbathing on the trail. I squeal like a little girl and jump over them. During the summer I see them maybe once a week.

ha! I do the squeal thing too. I know they have their place in this world but why does it have to be here!?! I've been bit and I'm blaming that on the reason I freak out but I really need to get some trail miles in. Maybe once it gets hotter and they are hiding more.

They do hide in the summer. Most of them are harmless but it's still creepy to see them. I've been very lucky and have never stepped on one.

Yes, I mix it up. It's good to add some variety and life just gets in the way sometimes. You can also tweak your mileage and do a 15/15 or a 20/5. Whatever works for you.

Thanks! I'll have to do some of those weekend long runs on Friday mornings before work to get it all fit into my schedule and idk that a 20 mile before putting up with coworkers is a very good idea. LOL :)

I never follow a set plan. Rather go out how i feel that day. But Sherrie gave you great advice. Just make it fun and don't stress if you don't follow the plan exactly. I found when i had a plan every day to follow, it took some of the fun out of running.

...I absolutely agree with keeping it fun. When I start stressing about it I don't want to do it.
