  1. RUN
    good Mohican 50 Mile 50 mi 13:30 16:12 pace

Well, in a nutshell, it went like this: It was good, then it kinda sucked, then it was good again, then it sorta sucked, then it REALLY sucked, then it was awesome. The end. I am writing a race re... read more

  2. RUN
    great Turtle Thursday 4 mi

I sure know how to taper! First run since the weekend, but really, not running favors running at this point. Legs are ready to rock.

  3. RUN
    good Dry Run 6 mi

Tested out most of next Saturday's race attire, including the cool-down bandana I got from Zombie Runner.

  4. RUN
    alright Highbanks Rust-Removal 10.15 mi 01:48 10:38 pace

Well, running didn't work out so well this week alone with the pup. I guess I'll be really well-rested for this 50. I needed to shake off the rust and give myself a boost to assure that I... read more

  5. FIT
    good Yin Yoga

Spine for one hour. This was a good one. I am tighter in my back than I realized. Too much sitting at work!

  6. RUN
good Big Walnut Trail 6 mi

I am on my own this week with Ember, so I am sneaking out for hour runs when I can.

  7. FIT
    good Yin Yoga

    Hips for one hour.

  8. VELO
good Big Walnut Trail with Kim 10 mi

Kim got a new bike so I went with her on her inaugural rise. Nice and easy.

  9. RUN
blah Alum Creek P1 5.64 mi

Managed to get out for a few today after an hour of yoga and an hour of cycling earlier in the day. I walked a lot on this short run. Don't know what's up. Maybe stress from Ember's ... read more

  10. RUN
    good Turtle Thursdays 5 mi

It was nice to not run a few extra miles this week before the actual group run. Hooray taper! This was a hot one. Ran mostly with Bill, who is still having back problems. We ended up walking the la... read more

  11. RUN
    Blendon Woods 7.16 mi 01:18 10:53 pace

Taper time! Not that I really trained; I just kinda ran. Anyhoo, I am trying to figure out my shoes. The Kinvaras aren't going to cut it for 50 miles, so I experimented with my Masochists and ... read more

  12. RUN
    good Mo' Mo 23.5 mi

Wanted another chance to get acquainted with the long loop of Mo50. Run got cut short when Amanda took a good spill on the trail and jammed her wrist. We walked about 4 miles and bailed early so we... read more

  13. RUN
    Turtle Thursday 9 mi 01:27 09:36 pace

Much better than Tuesday. Legs feel bouncy. Wasn't hot, which may be part of why today felt so good.

  14. RUN
tired Big Walnut Trail 7 mi

It's still hot and my legs are still a bit heavy. I probably should not have taken two full days off after Saturday, but my yard needed some catching-up. It can't always be about running,... read more

  15. RUN
    good Playin' Possum 50K Plus 6 37.17 mi 07:52 12:41 pace

Ran 6 on my own prior to the actual 50k race in order to get my longest run before the 50 in. The first 6 miles was the yellow loop of the race, which I did a wee bit fast for fear I would miss the... read more

Wow, awesome job and a great pace! I'd be pleased as punch to nail that pace at North Country. :D Great job. GO YOU.

Thanks, Melissa. This was a really flat course, not quite the sandy rollers that is North Country! You'll do great in August. Let's hope for better weather this year!

alright Turtle Thursday 11 mi 01:49 09:54 pace

Run was okay, but those MFing plantar warts have flared up again on my left forefoot. Felt like rocks in my shoe and try as I did to resist, I know I was altering my gait to compensate, hence the e... read more

You did 11 and then an ultra the next day?! Now I feel lazy!! LOL. Good job and great pace. Hardly "turtle" IMO. I consider anything under 10 min/miles or even low 10s a decent clip. ;)

And sorry about the warts. That sounds very not good. :C I'm still battling PF that keeps randomly flaring up just enough to bug me without being really awful. Foot stuff is the worst man!

I was writing this on a Friday, hence the "tomorrow". This run was on Thursday and the race was Saturday.

But thanks though!! I put cushions on my foot and that seemed to help, not to mention running on a softer surface. Yeah, foot stuff blows ;)

good Three Creeks 8.65 mi 01:21 09:21 pace

Legs had a lot of pop to them after taking it really easy last week and having the last two days off. I feel guilty for running so little on recovery weeks, but my legs feel good and I am not injur... read more

  18. RUN
good Mill Creek Park with Brit and Em 7.5 mi

Ran the short loop of YUTC. Love this course!!! Can't believe I (mostly) remembered the route on my own.

  19. RUN
    good Turtle Thursday 5 mi

No time for extra miles tonight as Kim was out of town, so I had to go home first.

  20. RUN
great Big Walnut with Ember 5.9 mi 00:57 09:40 pace

Had a lot of fun with Em on this run tonight, as we stopped about 2 miles in to let her play in the creek. I've never seen her play in the water before. It was funny watching her scuba dive fo... read more
