Finally had the money for some new running shoes, I'd been using the same ones I ran my HMs in, back in 2012!
    Adidas supernova sequence 7.

Would recommend Runners Need for Brits, btw. Gait analysis and price matched amazon.

Worth noting that whilst calibrating foot pod to new shoes over the weekend, aimed for 10:00 pace and going on feel alone was almost smack on - 10:02.

  3. FIT
good Kentish Town easy 30 mins 3.24 km 00:30 14:54 pace

Had 48 hrs rest after having a tooth out on Friday. Knew straight away that I wasn't 100% (maybe the antibiotics) when the lunge warm-up exhausted me, then I was struggling to keep HR down aft... read more

Nice work!! I tend to run too fast so the walking part has to be slower, so the walking ends up faster. Weird how that works! Slow and steady increases!

Amazing workout. Yup, having dental work can really wipe us out (quite a shock to the body).

  4. Had planned for a jog/walk tonight but had my dodgy tooth extracted and probably wiser to rest. Hopefully get moving again over the weekend! Good luck with your races/runs.

  5. RUN
great Kentish Town easy 30 mins 2.95 km 00:30 16:20 pace

Might've been a little overzealous with the foam roller, I could hardly move yesterday! Went out after 9.30PM. Today's mini-goal was to increase my cadence, whilst keeping it easy. It mea... read more

    good Sheldon easy 5k 5 km 00:44 14:04 pace

Foam rolled Saturday night, then again before heading out this evening. Also did some warm up exercises. It made a huge difference: 40 secs faster, lower average and max HR and legs felt good if a ... read more

alright Sheldon easy 5k, not the best 5 km 00:44 14:18 pace

Felt fatigued today, I'll cut back on the rest day walks for now. Ran in the evening to give myself longer to rest. Forgot to do any warm-up exercises (just do a handful of lunges, etc, usuall... read more

A great attitude Andy, good work carrying on despite feeling a bit knackered! And wise to include strength training in your regimen, I need to remind myself to do more of that:-)

Some runs are like this, but you got it done - thats what counts. I would be lost without my foam roller, great for recovery.

  9. walk
great Rest day Walk 6.51 km 01:06 16:14 pace

Another walk to quench the need to get out, sticking to three runs a week for a while.
Raining throughout but dressed appropriately so wasn't a problem.

  10. RUN
    great Great easy 5k 5 km 00:42 13:26 pace

Was raring to go at 5.15 AM but it was pouring down with rain. No thanks!

good How lost can you get on a 5K ... 11 km 01:40 14:35 pace

The answer: very lost, in my case!

Somehow managed to get so hopelessly lost that a 5K jog/walk ended up being 11K! Generally stuck to my pattern of jogging until mid-160s HR then walk whilst it... read more

  18. RUN
good easy 5k (but not easy enough!) 5 km 00:36 11:37 pace

Same again, out before 6AM. Almost five minutes faster but at the expense of higher HR (184-198 - I once got 197 on a MHR test!). Have to remember to keep it easy next time but fun to be back at it.
