I'm having trouble getting Garmin to sync. Watch recorded for first 85 miles before the battery died. It was a beautiful day, I executed all of the things I knew I wanted to work on - no problems with taking in food and water, or staying awake and I went the full distance without touching my feet. My feet are a bit beat up at the moment, good sized blisters on the front pads of my feet and my right foot looks to be swollen like last 100 miler. My lack of hill work became evident quickly. This was a tough course with very little flat; it was either up hill or down hill. Some sections of fire road were surprisingly technical either due to the lack of maintenance, or because they just ran a bull dozer over the trail and made ruts that tried to twist ankles. 99% of the course was tree covered and I never felt overheated, even got a chill while running as the sun was setting. I couldn't imagine how much worse the day would have been if heat had been a factor. I fell short of the sub 24 hour finish, but got the finish, which gives me a Western States 100 qualifier so I can get into the next lottery. This was a sold out race (150 people) due to the qualifier status. 142 started, 106 finished and I got 56th place.
