    great Greenbelt 22.02 mi 04:23 11:55 pace

Met Jenny, Joyce and Nancy. Jenny & I ran ahead, found Randy (and Maggie - dog). Everyone did their own thing and passed here and there. I ended up adding in extra running back and forth which... read more

  5. RUN
good Dark and alone 8.5 mi 01:44 12:14 pace

Got up at 4:30 to practice running alone in the dark, and also 9:1s. So glad one house got rid of their wolf hybrids. I love animals but the howling in the dark when I'd go by was too much.

Oooh, howling in the dark sounds quite creepy! Great job getting up and at it!

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about! (The buffalo part.) I'm really hoping there will be some back-of-the-back-of-the-packers so I won't be alone the whole time. :( That's an awful lot of darkness for someone my pace before they can have a buddy along.

You'll be fine. If you're cautious around the buffalo and give them space, they won't bother you. I was last place at that race my first year. I still had company. You'll do great. :)

  6. RUN
great eagle island 15.26 mi 03:48 14:55 pace

Nice to run with Joyce, Lori, Jenny, Nancy, David, Mary, Michelle, and Kristine!

  7. RUN
    alright Greenbelt 4.5 mi 00:46 10:10 pace

1/2 mile walk, ran the rest, so the pace wasn't that bad, just wasn't feeling right. Maybe too many afternoon snacks or possibly a bit tired from this weekend.

You've been pushing pretty hard. I read an article from Ann Trason this week that said the most important component to a good training plan is rest/sleep. :) That's probably all you need a little bit of right now. I chased Ryan and the fast kids today and felt pretty spent still too. We're still recovering from a butt-kicking 50k!

Nice job but I agree, an extra rest day may be in order! I took a few extra days off this week and felt so much better on my subsequent run.

The conditions were really tough this year! The black ice was nuts! Loved getting a hug from you before we stared! Glad you had a buddy! I got in a low mental place for a few hours since I saw no one from mile 20 - about mile 29! Great job! The volunteers were so up upbeat and wonderful!
