10 miles w/ 7 miles @ mp. My head was playing Jedi mind tricks the entire time; confidence mixed with intense self-doubt. When you have trouble keeping 7 at mp you have to wonder how you can do 26.

Ah, but race day is so different...the issue then will be staying on marathon pace and not pushing too much! You'll do great!

I hear ya!!! I have my 26 darn near the same time you do, it will be my first, and I have the same confidence/self-doubt blips that run through my head...we will prevail! :)

I always have a tough time getting a tempo pace out of myself for longer distances when alone. Race day seems to always show me the benefit of my training efforts. Seriously, I can't come close to what I can do in any race when running alone. Even after I've proven to myself I can do it. It's the effort that counts.
