Ran a little longer on my last interval because I was feeling good. Still doing lots hip stretching & icing, but starting to feel like I'm back, baby!

My 2nd week of easing back into running is done. Still doing lots of stretching & icing, and my hip is a little tweaked, but all in all I'm feeling good.

alright Week 1 Day 2 of Couch to 5k 1.5 mi 00:20 13:20 pace
My legs are starting to hit their #running groove. I'm a little sore, but so far no pain. Icing & keeping my fingers crossed!

RUN
alright Week 1 Day 1 of Couch to 5k 1.5 mi 00:20 13:20 pace
After 6 months, I'm off the injured list & laced up my running shoes. I did W1D1 of C25k. Now for ice. Here's hoping I stay pain free!

FIT
injured 1 mi 00:16 15:30 pace
My first time at the gym in almost 3 months! Took it slow on the elliptical...1 mile with no resistance, followed by stretching, an ice pack, & an anti-inflammatory. Now, crossing my fingers f... read more

injured 3.5 mi 00:40 11:25 pace
Since I'm being good & following dr.'s orders, I used the elliptical instead of running. Definitely am not a fan. Then again, it's better than nothing.

RUN
good 5 mi 00:56 11:07 pace
The run was fine, but unmemorable. As I'm sitting here with my compression socks, my ice pack, and my foam roller, though, I'm definitely feeling like a "real" runner.

RUN
great 3.02 mi 00:31 10:18 pace
A little bit of speed work for this 3 mile run paid off, as it includes two of my fastest splits...ever! The bad thing is my hip is still bothering me a little.

RUN
good 3.02 mi 00:33 11:00 pace
First run of 2012...and 10 1/2 weeks until the @RunRocknRoll USA half marathon! I up'd my speed a little after each mile. It felt good, although my hip is a little sore from yesterday's w... read more

FIT
good Circuit Training w/ my trainer 00:30
It was a good workout...3 different kettlebell exercises and 2 rounds on the dip machine broken up by "resting" for 2 minutes on the treadmill at a 10 incline.

RUN
alright 3.5 mi 00:45 12:51 pace
A nice slow run to start burning off all the holiday indulgence.

RUN
good 3.02 mi 00:34 11:19 pace
I've had some hip and calf soreness (bordering on pain) since the Hot Chocolate 15k, so this was first real run since Dec 3rd. The run felt good, although my hip was a bit sore afterwards. I... read more

RUN
alright Hot Chocolate 15k 9.3 mi 01:52 12:01 pace
Honestly, this was a crap race. It started an hour late, which meant standing outside in 28 degree weather for 2 hours before running.
Once the race started, it took me almost 2 miles to really... read more

I was going to run their Dallas race in February, but you experience and others I have read have convinced me not to run it. Good job!

I'm sorry that you've decided not to, but I have to say I think it's probably the right decision. They posted an "apology" on FB, but they missed half of the things that went wrong with the race. http://on.fb.me/ueUjfb Plus, I heard that there were some problems in Chicago, too. I love chocolate...love the idea of this race...but it just wasn't worth it.

RUN
alright 10.01 mi 01:57 11:39 pace
I'm excited to have my mileage back in the double digits, but I'm definitely feeling the higher mileage. At least it helped burn off some of the #Thanksgiving indulgences!

I have a severe strain in my tensor fasciae latae (TFL) and glute. I've already been on meds and rest for 3 weeks, but I have 5 more to go :-( I started physical therapy today, so hopefully that will help...and she said she thought my March 17th Half Marathon was still possible. So, we'll see.

That sounds hopefully. At least you're taking care of it and resting it. Feel better! I'll keep my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery
