To my surprise, the gym was actually open today, so my husband and I hit the great indoors. 10 min warmup, 8x(1 min high rpm HARD+4 min moderate), 10 min cooldown.

Arrived back in LA! Too hot for a workout outside, and the pools/gyms are closed. Time to pile up on chores and errands, back to regular training and work tomorrow.

alright Annadel St Pk 8.57 mi 01:28 10:16 pace
Wild turkey run! I got lost after taking a wrong turn, and it took me a long time to figure out where I was. I knew I'd be late back to the start, where my brother was picking me up, as we had to g... read more

HR spikes even higher. I realize I'm getting no quality out of this workout so I cut it short and will have to squeeze it in during my trip instead. Running tempo after a grueling day at work and t... read more

good Arcadia HS 1600, 3200, 2x800 5.25 mi 00:40 07:35 pace
Always one of my most brutal workouts. Bru-tal. Paces 6:54 for 1600, 7:16 for 3200 and 6:44 for the 800s. It's jumping from the 3200 to the 800s that does it to me. Speed after hard endurance is a ... read more

good Big Dalton walk/hike 3.94 mi 01:04 16:14 pace
I think I found a new favorite place to run! Nice combo of road, single-track and an area of winding hills for hill repeats. Took my Garmin GPSMAP unit out for the first time to play with it.

alright 8-miler > 3-miler 3.01 mi 00:26 08:39 pace
Oh yeah, so THAT's why I'm not supposed to run two days in a row! Had a sore throat and fatigue from speedwork so I converted my 8 miles @ HMP+15sec pace into a 3-miler and called it a day. Going h... read more

In theory, you are s'pose to have an easy day in between tougher workouts. Are you trying to train within certain h/r zones?

Yes, in theory, that's right. But until I'm a sponsored athlete (insert big laugh here) I have to juggle a funky schedule, so sometimes I end up having to do two workouts back to back. I don't like to do it at alllllll. Luckily I was able to take today off, so my 13-miler should be more doable tomorrow.
And no, no training within HR zones. I just use HR to gauge how I'm feeling.. I felt like there was no way I was going to hit 7:43/mile for five miles based on how I was feeling, and the high HR confirmed
