    Finally! I was given the ok to run and went out this morning for the first time in 4 weeks. I had perma-smile for the whole 3 miles!!!

    Had an intense knot in my back on Sunday and spent the day barely moving. Monday took Tylenol and was able to do yoga to help stretch it out. OUCH!

      I have heard that your feet change when you lose weight (as well as the rest of you) so it's possible that your sneakers are too big now. I've heard very good things about the Runner's Alley stores in Manchester & Portsmouth. Good luck!

      Caroline has bingo- Runner's Alley. They have a direct line to my bank account. And your feet change shape/size as you run, partially from the weight loss and partially from the swelling that takes place over long runs. RA will have more info than me.

      Just came back from there! Purchased Mizuno Wave Rider, less weight than the Gels I have been running in for years and I had forgotten how much I really love the way they grip my heel. As far as the blisters go, she really felt it was a combination of year old shoes, high humidity and your guess is as good as mine, sometimes it just happens.
      As far as Ted's goes in Keene, I have been buying my sneaks there for years and they have always been helpful but I just wanted a change.

    I didn't hit my goal of keeping it under 2:10 and better yet around 2:07. It was such a humid day and I think we all ran a little slower than anticipated. Over all though, glad I did it.

      Me too. I kind of hit a wall between miles 11 and 12. It was a beautiful course, though.

      Great time, Alena!! Good for you!! It was super humid so the effort was even harder and you got so close to your goal that I'd say it counts. Congratulations!!

      Alena - I had really bad blister problems when I was training for my marathon. Found a great pair of sock - Darn Tough Socks and then have used "blister band-aids" which provide a cushion and keep the blisters from forming in the areas where I was having problems. I now consistently put the band-aids on the two toes and the blister problem has resolved.
