So I really have no idea what happened to my ankle, but whatever it is, I'm glad it's healing up quickly. Only used crutches for two days, and the walking boot that I bought online just came but I don't need it any more. Swelling and tenderness is still there but I can hobble and limp my way around the house. I hopped on my bike because I've already taken 2 days off and I figured I can at least cycle a little bit, use those muscles slightly to slow the de-conditioning/loss of fitness process as much as possible. Anyway, I was actually able to use all the gears but I was hesitant to up my cadence past the 70s. I'm just happy to be able to bike, if at least for a little bit. May be a few days from now, if my ankle heals up more, I can actually do a small workout.
