Wow, the weather did not seem conducive for swimming outdoors. You might be a little crazy?!

Saw your comment on my workout - yeah, hip rotation is something I'm working on too. You're totally right - when it clicks, you can move so effortlessly. Unfortunately it only ever seems to click for about 3 seconds at a time for me :)

great Reach The Beach Ma - Runner 3... 2.67 mi 00:19 07:14 pace

Crushed it. Goal was 7:45 per mile. Passed 6 runners during a very short final leg. Once again Reach The Beach was an amazing experience. Cannot wait to do one again.

  5. RUN
great Reach The Beach Ma - Runner 3... 5.64 mi 00:45 07:55 pace

Only night run for me. So much fun. More uphill on this leg, though nothing compared to the hills near home. Goal was 8:15 per mile, beat that as well.

  6. RUN
great Reach The Beach Ma - Runner 3... 5.92 mi 00:46 07:45 pace

Great first leg. A lot of downhill. I estimated 8:05 a mile and I beat that handily.

  7. RUN
great Brookline to Hollis 8.51 mi 01:15 08:45 pace

Nice easy run. Getting the legs loose for Reach The Beach. Cannot wait!

    great Brookline-Hollis-Pepperell 47.48 mi 02:44 17.4mph pace

181 watts avg., IF 0.857, 2,819 ft elevation gain, and I felt fresh off the bike! Hopefully feel this way during the Patriot Half.

  9. RUN
    great Chelmsford - Lowell 10.53 mi 01:34 08:54 pace

What a storm. Thunder, Lightning and flooded streets. I decided to cut the run short.

Finally Open Water Swimming! The water was great, I wish I had started a couple of weeks ago. Faster than in the pool!

Is open water really warm enough to go in? I find it's usually a bit cool until at least June... or were you in a wetsuit?

Wetsuit. Though hands and feet were bare and they were quite warm. I was glad I left my booties on the beach.

I am feeling ready. Since I had no taper for the RR and still got through it I believe that with the taper I should be good to go. I am going to enjoy my off day today though. One more RR to go on June1. Hitting the Rev3 Maine course that day to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Race Rehearsal run. I guess after 56 miles on a bike I felt like I should on the run.

Ahhhhhh...some runs ARE like that. Makes us appreciate the ones in cruise control, though. Way to stick it out and get solid miles just the same!

I kept pretending I had just biked 56 miles and this was the final stretch so there was no stopping. Plus I had 1:55 run on my plan so I had to finish. It was written down.
