great Anniversary Run 8 mi 01:12 09:00 pace

Ran with Leslie K. on the Lakefront Trail in downtown Chicago, we were downtown celebrating our anniversary (#6!). It was a beautiful day for a run but there were a shitton of people which made for... read more

good Saturday Long Run 17 mi 02:10 07:38 pace

Ran earlier this morning out on the Prairie Path and I know I don't have a good memory for such things, but I don't think I've ever seen so many other runners out on the PP at one ti... read more

great More Recovery Miles 6 mi 00:48 07:57 pace

For the first time in a long time, when I got out of bed this morning, there were no aches or discomfort. I chalked that up to the pace of my run yesterday and so I decided to do it again today and... read more

  4. RUN
good Recovery Miles 6 mi 00:48 08:04 pace

Kept it at recovery pace today - beautiful day out. If you can believe it, I actually caught up to and passed a bicyclist on the Prairie Path. Had the song "Slow Ride" by Foghat in my hea... read more

  5. RUN
good Lunch Speed 8 mi 00:55 06:52 pace

Felt better than this morning - I asked Marc W. for an idea of what to do for a workout because I was out of ideas. He recommended a workout he's been doing, 4-miles at a sustainably difficult... read more

  6. RUN
good Lunch Miles 6 mi 00:46 07:43 pace

My body didn't feel great today, a little heavy and slow, but that seems typical for a run after an off-day. Probably didn't help that it was low-80s and a dewpoint near 70 either.

  7. RUN
good Long Run Sunday 16 mi 02:03 07:41 pace

Judging from most of your entries, most of you all are brighter than me and had the foresight to run early this morning before it was boiling lava hot outside. The conditions were certainly a chall... read more

good Saturday Sweat 6 mi 00:43 07:09 pace

Took to the Prairie Path this morning before the rain hit. Mile warm-up then a 4-mile progression, then took an 800m rest jog and then finished with a hard 800. Happy with the workout, my body is s... read more

  9. RUN
    good Sweat Fest 2014 6 mi 00:46 07:43 pace

Ran before work this morning - I think I probably lost a good 2-3 lbs just from sweating. My body was kinda fighting me the whole way for this run - just never felt comfortable. Hopefully tomorrow&... read more

Everyone earns their misery run badge today! At least you can weigh in after your run and tell everyone you lost weight..leaving out the sweating part.

great Lunch Miles 6 mi 00:47 07:45 pace

Took it inside again, thought it was going to rain and then it didn't. It's all good though, my legs probably benefited from running on a flat, cushioned surface. No lingering issues from... read more

great This Machine Kills Ravers 8 mi 00:55 06:55 pace

I was listening to a techno station on Pandora during my run and the main lyric of one of the songs was "This machine kills ravers"...it stuck in my mind. Been needing this kind of a run ... read more

Great Run Adam! I'd be curious to see what you would do a 10mile run during mid week as your sole "workout run"? My goal was to do it at 8:00 pace...which is what my 1/2 M goal is. That would be an awesome tester to see for your marathon.

I would love to do that - but time, unfortunately, is my enemy. I might try and squeeze it in one of these weeks. I can manage to run twice a day if I wake up early and run and then do another run at lunch, but getting the chunk of time needed to execute a 10-miler during the week is tough.

  12. RUN
good Lunch Miles 6 mi 00:47 07:47 pace

Entering the most intense part of marathon training here over the next 6 weeks. Hoping to really kill it here over the next several weeks. An easy 6 on tap today, everything was feeling good.

I call these runs the M&Ms in the running trail mix, always good and essential to the mix... actually I made that up right now, but it sounds good.
