  1. Hello Everyone. I have decided that after a few fantastic years of using DM I am now leaving. This is partly to do with a pact I made with myself to whittle down my social networking addiction to s... read more

Sorry to see you go when I've only just 'met' you, Ad, but understand the time management thing. Forget the mingling and suits and powertalks unless absolutely necessary - as they are even more full of crap than anyone you might find in the running world (joking). Will miss your posts on here, but will stalk your blog instead. Best wishes.

  2. #dailymission Today's Mission: Training-wise, where would you like to be this time next year? Running 5 min mile pace in a half marathon would be good.

Sounds like you're making an improvement Ad!
Do you use a foam roller, to help loosen up the muscles, before and after a run?

Hazel you are right. I think another 4 weeks and I will be back to fitness but with a stronger core. Alun yes my roller helps massively. I feel better for the weights and core work.

  7. Did you know a mile is 1609.34m not 4 laps of a track. But 4 laps 9.34m Yep, that's right. I wonder how many people actually realise that lol Off now to get a life.

I did notice that 4 miles around the track did not add up to 1 mile but thank you for telling me the exact distance. I can sleep tonight. Have you tried running 4 laps in lane 2? Does that not add up to 1 mile?x

The stagger between lane 1 and lane 2 for a 400m race is 6.28m so times that by 4 and you are running 1625.12m by doing 4 laps in the 2nd lane.
