The lads : Marty, Curtis, Darren, Jason, Jager, Jet, moi
The plan : Ride as high as possible, KVR and drop into Vapour
The reality : Thursday was a torrential downpour - rained most of the day. Word came on FB that the top 400 meters of Vapour was washed out and a waterfall.
No problem - we ride regardless - just not that high.
Streggs, Curtis and I rode from Lower Mission up. I get a phone call - Jet drove by us - he'll meet us somewhere near Lost Lake Loop. Cool.
So we all hook up near that very area. As we proceed up - the one creek we're riding to has washed out a bridge and left debris before. Chances are we might have to turn around. Lucky for us - a massive dead tree is the perfect bridge on our 2nd crossing. Got some video too.
The climb was uneventful - lot's of banter. Jet was in such a rush that he forgot his night light. That and the torrent of water on land on top 1/3 of Vapour made the call Grassy / Outhouse and then drop into Vapour.
The descent was A W E S O M E. Jet wore the GoPro and followed just about everybody. Him & Jason spooked 2 Moose - hopefully have that on video.
Jet aslo followed me down Connector - fastest descending I've ever done. Two spots I kinda went " Ohhh Shit " but the cycling gods smiled and all was well.
Everybody was pumped and happy with an outstanding descent. No major downfall - no mudbogs to speak of. No prangs with anyone - a GOOD ride.
Not as large a crew for wobblies after - but all good.
