I'm with Margaret on this - the wind has been a shocker, and I'm not surprised to hear that it affected your ride. You and Pete are clearly made of stern stuff! It was a very blustery and rainy evening for our run tonight.

Yes, the new builds are prolific up here too. I can understand the need for new housing but at the same time there are future generations that will never enjoy the simple freedom of their local countryside.

Drat those forecasters! A bit of an inconvenience with the rain but it did not totally spoil your day it seems. Well done for braving it anyway.

That was most unfortunate, 26! As ever it surprises me (and I'm sure our US cousins) the differences we experience in weather in - what - 40 miles? We had the merest hint of drizzle on our run first thing this morning, but it's generally been a fine Autumn day.

Not like Pete to be flaky, from what I see from your ride outs - I'm sure there was a good reason. You certainly made the best of it tho'. Love the idea of the Origami group! I knew that Bromptons are a big deal in London, but had no idea that they rode out other than the commute (and wonder why, when a road bike in these circs would be far more agreeable?).

Get that winter kit out, 26! The frost has hit a couple of times this week even in our more urban situation. Glad you are making the best of this delightful Autumn - us desk jockeys have only been able to pine out the window at the days, and run with the chilly evenings.
