I have a 2 year old and a dog. I have run a few 1/2s and am going to do the Marine Corps this Halloween. I am of the attitude that you only live once and this year is the year to reach this life-long goal. Maybe more will follow after that, who knows? I live in Virginia so I'm worried right now about the humidity and high temps, even at 0500, when I start getting to some longer runs. My body'll get used to it and it should work itself out. I don't think I'd run consistently unless I have races to motivate me, and even then I'm not as good as I should be! Come on down if you want to do the Marine Corps with me. Registration opens April 7th!

    Hi Lena! You will LOVE MCM, that was my first marathon in 07! I would love to do that one again someday. I trained throughout the summer here in SC, so I know what you mean about humidity and high temps! You can do it ! Best of luck to you!

    Hey Heather! Thanks for the info and positive outlook! I'm sure I will love the course, have heard only good things about it. I guess you are not running it this year?

    No not this year, I'm running Vermont City Marathon May 30th and then Chicago Marathon October 10th. I'm shooting for one in each of the 50 states, so no do-overs for a while, haha!

    Not yet! I haven't even looked into those states yet. What races do they offer?

    Heather, been a while! Last year I ran the MCM and you are right....it was a great course and lots of excellent support. What have you run this year? I just had 2nd baby 6 weeks ago so am slowly getting back into it. Maaaaaaybe would do the MCM again next year.
