Looking for advice

posted almost 2 years ago | Report

I had to back off for about a week or so due to knee problems. I am supposed to be on week 3. Any advice for how to start back up next week?

  • Clayton, you can choose what feels best for you: back up to week 2 and try that again, or repeat your last week 3. Go with your gut.

    What's up with your knees?

I think I just pushed myself too hard...I have not run in over 10 years and Im not in the best of shape...I think I have everything straight now.

Just wondering. What was wrong with your knees. I just decided to start up running again. I am overweight but not completely out of shape. My knees have been sore. I don't want to just quite running. I really really really want to continue but don't want to ruin my knees either.

  • I was also having knee problems right around week 2-3. And tripping/landing on my knees during week 3 certainly didn't help either. I found that retraining myself on the proper form was immediately helpful. Instead of landing on your heel and rolling to the toe, land at the middle of your foot and push off with the ball of your foot - I think of it like bouncing. Once I stopped slamming all 175 of my lbs. directly onto my heels and knees, they stopped hurting!
