Couch to 5K

How many programs are there?

posted almost 2 years ago | Report

I learned to day that there is more than one Couch to 5K program. So I would like input from people who have done it as to which is the best. Which one are you following? I know of at least two programs. One at http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml and then another at http://www.fromcouchto5k.com/articles/training/the-couch-to-5k-training-plan/ I am very new to running and am having problems with breathing correctly already. I dont want to get discouraged so just looking for some input on what program works best for newbies. Thanks!

  • I have been doing the cool runnings program. I've downloaded podcasts and do it to the time, not miles. The podcasts make it easy because they tell me exactly when to walk and when to run so all I have to concentrate on is breathing and form. I just finished W5D3 and have not had any problems. I am about 30 pounds overweight, eat healthy, but hadn't really been exercising before I started this. The first two weeks are the hardest.

  • I also did the coolrunnings podcasts and followed the program based on time. I knew there were other programs out there, but haven't tried them out. Did you try any others? Any feedback?

  • The coolrunning one's been working well for me, and I was a total neophyte when I started it..

  • Go to the iTunes store and search for C25K.
They have podcasts and app for C25K.
