C25K W2D2

posted about 2 years ago | Report

Hi to everyone/anyone reading this!
I'm trying this program again after falling off the bandwagon last year. I'm hopeful for a 5K in April. Just finished W2D2 of the C25K program yesterday and so far so good. I'm still slow, but am going to have to force myself to be patient. Adding in weight training to help with my strength.
Would love to hear how others attempting this program (or other similar programs) are doing!

  • I'm about a day behind you. Yesterday I did W2D1 and it hurt! I think I did my first run segment a little too fast and then suffered the rest of it. I glad to find someone to help keep me accountable and motivated!

Hi Audrey - way to go! I hear ya on the pushing too hard part. I've gotten to starting my jog a bit slower and then every 90 seconds increasing it by a little bit. I'm running on the treadmill right now, so I can be a bit more accountable with my speed. My goal is a 10-minute mile. Slowly, ever so slowly trying to reach that goal.
    I start Week 4 tomorrow.
    Keep up the good work!

I'm doing W2D3 today, but I might redo this week because until two days ago I had only been running on the treadmill, and then when I went for an outdoor run I realized how much more difficult it is! So I think I need to start only running outside if possible and make sure I'm ready to move on. I'm planning to do a 5k race on May 1st. Looking for DM friends doing the couch to 5k program :)

I'm re-doing Week 5 right now. I've been sick the past week and only completed the 1st 2 workouts on try 1. I actually did a 5K (walking and jogging) last weekend. I only run on the treadmill & doing it out side was so much harder! I need to start running outside as well. It's just so much easier to keep track of the time on a treadmill!

  • I'm on week 5 day 3 and am really enjoying it! I can't wait to get outside and really see what I've got! Good luck -- you can do this! :O)

  • I wondered how running on a treadmill compared to running outside. Guess I'd better get my hiney in gear and get out the door! :O) Sounds like you're doing great. I'm on week 5 as well.

Its much harder, thats for sure! I've been sore all week! I downloaded some podcasts that tell you when its time to run, and when to stop, and its put to music. You should try that!

  • I just did Workout 3. I was super nervous, but did it! I think I need to move some of this outside next week to gauge my progress better.

  • Wow! Hi everyone - sorry I've been absent; I didn't realize you all had been posting. I just finished W4 D3 and am feeling pretty good. I am super nervous to start W5 but I'll push through.
I'm still running on the treadmill and fully anticipate it being much harder once all of this snow and ice melt and I can run outside again. My 5K deadline is April 24th. Wooho

  • I am using the Robert Ullrey (sp?) podcasts and find them VERY helpful. I've tried to do this program before just timing myself and got too distracted. These help a lot! Plus, its so relieving to hear his voice say "ok - you've finished your final run, now slow it down...." ha!

I'm on Week 6. I was super nervous about Week 5, but it was totally manageable. Even Workout 3 which seemed daunting! You can do it!

  • I just finished Week 5, Day 3, then did a couple more run/walk intervals. I might attempt W3D1 today, as I have to work this weekend and it is supposed to storm. I got to W5D2 last year when the heat really set in, and dropped out.
