Often incorrectly referred to as the "Elgin Marbles", these beautiful and unique pieces of art, dating back thousands of years, now have the perfect home awaiting their eventual return to Athens.

The new Acropolis Museum, which opened in June 2009, has been created to accommodate and showcase to the world, not only a unique selection of priceless treasures from the Acropolis and Parthenon of Athens, but also to reunite the Parthenon Marbles to their home city of Athens.

There are many views on why the marbles should be returned to Greece, or why they should remain hostage in the British Museum in London, thousands of miles from where they should proudly be in display. Discussions of these views can take place on a variety of other websites.
