Competitive?

2010 is my year of bike racing. I bought a nice road bike and 2007 and took up sport riding to get into shape, lose the extra pounds and counteract my sedentary occupation (computer programmer). Last year I entered a race and now I'm hooked on racing. I've got my first of the year in 4 weeks!

Part of what I really enjoy about biking is the very active masters divisions in many organized races. Plus I think the playing field is more level among ages than in running. In the race I did last year the 2nd place man was 40 and the top woman rider was over 50. That was overall too.

See you at the starting line!

  • I'm in a similar situation with running. Started just to lose some weight and get in better shape. Then, once I realized I could run 3 miles, I started thinking about doing a 5K. So I have my first race ever coming up in a couple weeks. And have signed up for a couple others and even a half marathon.
