I was there. This is a pretty course but not a fast one because of the hard-packed sand, so don't sweat it.

Ooops, I misread this. I was not there. For some reason I thought this was referring to the one in Windermere.

I was there, but I hadn't run in over 10 years so I ended up walking the whole thing. It was a nice day with a nice view at the top of the bridge. Walking this 5k actually got me back into running and in turn signed up on dailymile :) I am working toward being able to run a full 5k by July/Aug.

Nice going Eric! Glad to hear that you've found your way back to the sport. I'll look forward to reading about your progress.
What part of Orlando are you in (if you don't mind my asking)?

Thanks Rob. I am in East Orlando near UCF

Ah, right on. Any good trails out your way? I know of Blanchard, but that's it. I need to explore some more outside of downtown...it's starting to get boring. :)

You live near downtown? I live just a block away from Lake Eola. I used to live near UCF. I think part of the Cross Seminole Trail is up there near Oviedo.

Kitzzy, we're practically neighbors then. I live in Lake Eola Heights, just on the back side of the Landmark building. Funny that we haven't crossed paths before (or maybe we have?) :)
I'll look into the Cross Seminole Trail. I'll make a drive for a good trail.

Small world indeed. I am not sure where the Landmark building is, but I live on Livingston.
We went to the West Orange Trail last weekend for a bike ride. That is one sweet trail with lots of stations along the way including downtown Winter Garden. On one side is another trail with lots of rolling hills. I may try running them sometime when I'm ready for hill repeats.

Landmark building is the big glass office building across Robinson from the lake, between Rosalind and Broadway. I'm like 2 blocks due north of there.
That's it, I'm doing West Orange this weekend. I've heard too many good things about it to put it off any longer.

Oh ok. Wow, we really are neighbors.
Do you usually just run around Lake Eola? Have you tried any other trails? I usually run at Lake Eola, Cady Way or Lake Baldwin. Now that we have road bikes, we want to try out all the different trails.

I like running the lake if I just need a quick mile or so to warm-up for something else, but if I'm planning on going further, I usually run through nearby neighborhoods. Trails would be better though because, if nothing else, I won't have to worry about crossing traffic. I need to check out Lake Baldwin and Cady Way, since they are both pretty close.

Yeah I can only do 3 miles tops at Lake Eola before I get bored and want to turn home. I usually go to Mills and down to Thornton Park, around Lake Lawson then a loop or 2 at Lake Eola. Lake Baldwin is 2.5 miles around, so that's good for 5 miles and Cady Way goes on for a while and has mile markers.

A Rosalind-Bumby out and back is pretty close to 5k, in case you wanted some new houses to look at. :)

I've heard this, but have yet to try it. It seems so far for some reason, but I think that is because I usually ride there on my bike :) I paid attention when running at Lake Eola this morning and saw the Landmark Building. I think we live less than 1/4 mile from each other. Crazy!
