  • Part 1: 160 rounds | 13 stair | 2,080 Steps
    Monday, June 07, 2010 | 25 minute Step Workout

Woot! I had a beautiful and fun workout to start off the challenge and it felt so awesome! I was dripping sweat like crazy... to tell the truth, working out to music was a big motivator. I
used one of my favorite stair workout jams and I plan to make it official throughout the
challenge. Music makes a big difference!

The time estimate is based on "Smile Like You Mean It"

And maybe I'll go out again and do a bit more.

    Friday, June 11, 2010 | 7:35 minute step workout

Music: "enterlude", "When You Were Young" and "Neon Tiger"

(And, uh, I might need to back down a bit from suddenly doing this much in the future, as my legs are a bit trembly now.)

  • way to go :) SJ. is this the song from The Killings? i have it as one of my fitness workout songs.

posted over 4 years ago | Report

  • All those songs are from the Killers (SLYMI is on Hot Fuss, enterlude and WYWY on Sam's Town, and Neon Tiger from Day and Age), but you also may see me listening to songs from Les Mis and the Scarlet Pimpernel, country music, and a few other assorted artists.

Oops... I am sidetracking this thread from workouts to music. But I currently have no more step workouts to report.

(Perhaps I shall start a topic on workout music)

I did 5120 stairs today! I wasn't planning on it. But after a quick cat nap this afternoon and finishing up my work; I had so much energy. So I just kept going. I can tell my trainer has really strengthened my legs and this is helping alot. I am also working alot on my endurance which helps me too with the stairs.

Glenn and Bert, ya'll are too sweet. Bert, before my surgeries I was working all the time. So for three years (1 year working all the time 2 years surgeries) I wasn't really that active. But prior to that and all my life I have been super active. I played sports growing up and I always worked out. So I guess my body is just remembering how I used to be. I also have an enormous work ethic and determination that my parents instilled in us. I think that really helps me power through to my goals. So I guess I have my parents to thank!
