I think its great to see such a rise in the number of farmers markets across the US. Im just next door in NH and the number of markets was up 70% last year. The seacoast even tried a winter market this past season and it was a HUGE success. Some of the farmers are going to try to increase the winter green production. With the factory farms destroying the food, Im doing as much local as I can (a little at a time) and getting to know the farmer that actually grew the food and get to know his farming methods. Berries, swiss chard and some eggs today!

thanks Rick for your response, yes it is great to have local food, because the big farmers are doing everything to make a buck, great to hear NH is doing so well with farmers markets and winter one also that is great news. Supporting the local growers goes a long with to keeping them in business and us getting healthy food.
