2010 New York City Marathon

Hello everyone,

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. When is everyone starting their training? I was going to start July 18th, but I am already in "10k" shape, think I could put training off a little and just enjoy running shorter distances?

  • I started mine this past Saturday. I have been out for 2 months with an injury though, so I am starting ground up again to be careful with adding mileage as to not hurt myself again. I am hoping to go for 6 miles this up coming Saturday. I think the sooner you start training the easier it will be on your body, that way you can slowly build. But I am no expert, just offering my opinion! =]

  • Well, I have a half marathon coming up and I was thinking I would just keep my long runs at 12 miles and my weekly mileage at 22 miles until July 18th. I just figured I will keep my mileage down with this being my first.
