Christmas group goal?

I thought it might be fun to start a group goal of completing or surpassing a certain number of miles before Christmas this year. Say like 1225miles. (get it, 12/25 ;) )

So if I go out an run or walk 3 miles barefoot (which I did) I can come back and make a post like this:

-------------------------
Ran/walked 3 miles this morning! felt great even with a somewhat bum foot
1225 - 3 = 1222
-------------------------

and the next person who posts can subtract their miles from that.... what do you think?

  • I'm in! Might be better to set this up as a challenge? I'm not sure how those work, but this seems to fit the bill.

  • I looked for a way to set up a group goal but couldn't see it. The only option the challenges had were for the individuals to reach a certain distance, not the group as a whole.

    I say we start on November 27th. So this way we can all get a good start on the goal buy pounding off some of the turkey on the trails.

  • we can start ON turkey day if you want. Should we allow race miles to count? I think we could let them count as long as they are minimilist :)

    with 1225 miles over 30 days that means the group would have to average 41 miles a day. At our current six person group membership that would mean ya'll haveta be running miles ;) that means roughtly 7 miles a day for each person. LOL.

    So we need to get some more people from the group here!

  • I do around 20 miles a week, but right now only 3 or 4 miles are barefoot. I'm doing 10 to 12 tomorrow and will try to do half of it in VFFs....the way I feel afterward will let me know how much I can participate in this Minimalist Challenge.
