Track and Field Sites

I am a former competitive runner and coach who now keeps in cardiovascular shape using the elliptical. This is after I wore out my exercise bike and Nordic Track. In college I adopted Fartlek which is speed play or interval training and I am a firm believer in using it to build yourself up. I trained my track teams with this philosophy and it worked. I feel that it is important to set goals and work toward them. Planning to run in a race is a good way to motivate yourself to get into shape.
I have some links on the Track & Field page on my website that will give you some good sites:

Run through the tape!

  • Hi Jerry,
Thanks for the link! I've read a little about Fartlek and I'm planning on beginning this after the half marathon I'm currently training for.
    thanks again!

Good luck on your training for a half marathon. I ran marathons in the 1960's and half marathons in the 1980's. I preferred the half marathons.
