OK, it took me four and a half weeks before I felt like I could make it! I started it in the summer - the last week of July! Remember to get plenty of rest and that you will adjust -- I've been going since July and just did 5 miles yesterday - the app totally works. Actually every single bone in my body ached every day for at least the first 3 weeks and then I'd have glimmers of hope - you are totally in the toughest part of this - so keep going - don't quit and message me if you need motivation! You can do it and you'll feel so much better when your body gets used to it! I'm 40 and 45 pounds overweight -- so if I can do it! you can too! Also there is a couch to 5 K group on here that you might want to join too! Keep going! Don't quit!

Have you changed your diet, too? I don't know much about c25k, but when I started getting active I zoomed into exercise and healthy eating at the same time. I also tripled my pure water intake.

Thanks, Vicki. Your description is exactly how I feel right now. Every part of me, bones and all, just hurt. I turned 39 in July and things have completely changed with my body. I have three active children, a very physically fit hubby, and I teach 2nd grade. I refuse to give in to what gravity and age are trying to do to me. Knowing that I am normal and there's light at the end of the tunnel is a great inspiration. Thanks for the motivation. It really helps. Maybe by the time you come to VSU in March, I will be able to tell you in person about my progress. God bless!

Oh we can share stories! You can do this! I feel younger and my waistline is smaller although I haven't lost a significant amount of weight. It is about a lifestyle change that is permanent. The thing is - if I've held steady- how much would I have gained if I wasn't running!
Metabolism to a screeching halt when I hit 38 1/2 - it is crazy! But keep going and know that it WILL get better. I mean, watch if you think you're injured but if it is just achy bones kind of - "Oh my gosh, what have I gotten myself into" you can make that.
The first quarter mile is still the toughest part of any run - even the 5 mile run I did Saturday - I felt great on the last quarter and did it faster than the first one. Old bones have to overcome inertia! Keep going - you can do it!
