Missing runs due to guilt over leaving my kids in childcare at the gym.

I've been missing runs because I feel guilty dropping my kids off at the gym childcare (they are 2, 3, and 5). They used to do okay there, but they don't like it anymore. My oldest acts out when he's there and the youngest cries. The middle one still does okay. Anyone else have this problem and/or a solution?

When they liked childcare, I ran three or four times a week consistently. Now, I'm lucky to get in two runs and I DREAD the whining and crying.

A funny aside: I searched on the word "guilt" to see if anyone else had posted a similar topic, since I figured this might be a common issue and got a good laugh when my search returned a lot of result concerning beer. ;)

  • i'm sure you've found a solution since you posted this.. i, personally, get crabby and cranky and aggitated and mean when i don't work out. i've never taken my kids to day care to run but i have brought them to grandma's when they really didn't want to go because "its boring!!" but i figure happy mom, happy kids.. the running gives me the patience i need to deal with the whining and crying:O)
