Peninsula, OH
The towpath trail runs for 50+ miles through several counties in Ohio, including Summit, Stark, and Medina. This is a relatively flat trail made of crushed limestone. It is an old railway converted to trails for bikers, runners, and limited equestrian activity.
The course is easy to run.
My favorite spot to pick the trail up is at the corner of Bolanz and Riverview. There is usually plenty of open parking. There are bathrooms available. There is a farmer's market within walking distance for fresh fruit after the run. And you are at a mile marker, making out and back runs very easy to measure.
