NIKE Human Race Training

posted almost 4 years ago | Report

There are 3 training runs per week for the Human Race 10k: Guero's on Tuesdays, SIX Lounge on Thursdays, and Starbucks (24th St) on Saturdays. (http://inside.nike.com/blogs/humanrace-en_US_AUSTIN/tags/train_for_the_race).

Has anyone been to one of these workouts yet? I'm thinking about going to the Thursday one.

  • I went to one of the first ones at the Starbucks location. There were maybe 20 people who showed up, but I imagine they've grown quite a bit since then. It was a lot of fun running with new people, new routes, and free iced coffee, but I don't care to get up that early. I think they meet at 7:45am on Saturdays.

They brought the Nike van to Starbucks on the morning of the run and they probably have it there every week. You should be able to demo some Nike shoes, which is pretty cool, and they also give away some gear.

  • I started running with the Nike Run Club (Palm Beach) so I can get used to running at night. They had the kick-off event last Thursday for the Human Race, and it was pretty awesome for not even being in a race city.
See my blog entry for details: http://superfoodsuperfood.wordpress.com/2008/07/31/nike-run-club-55-miles/

I would go, Dan. If for no other reason than to get you excited about the race and CONVINCE YOU TO RUN IT!
