I'm following Hal Higdon's 18 week training guide. I'm into week 7 and so far so good.
Millage is starting to get long. 14 miles scheduled for Friday.
If anyone wants to do a long run in Philly Friday morning let me know. I run around 9-10 minute miles.

Hi James, thanks for all your comments! How are you finding the Hal Higdon program thus far? It'll be interesting to compare notes with others as your training progresses.
Speaking of which, I'm doing a modified version of the FIRST marathon training program for first-time marathons, http://www.furman.edu/first/2006%20marathon%20training-first%20marathon.pdf. A veteran marathoner friend of mine has used the program several times, & highly recommended it. Like you, it's been so far, so good thus far. :) I particularly like the structure of the program, which really suits my current lifestyle/schedule.

Hope you find some running partners for your long runs. It's a lot to fun to run long runs with a group. Certainly makes the time go by faster! :)
