10. Breakfast Choices

How do you get yourself geared up for a morning walk? Do you eat breakfast before or after? What's your typical breakfast like?

  • I normally drink about 3 ounces of water right before I start my walk. Once I'm done with my walk I like to spoil myself with a good hearty breakfast, which is usually tea with bread and boiled eggs along with fresh fruit (banana and/or fresh orange).

  • I don't like to exercise on an empty stomach so I eat 1 hour or so prior to my exercise. I have one of 3 choices: loaded oatmeal, homemade granola w/ yogurt, or vegetable-egg fritata. nWhat can I say, I love breakfast!

  • No eating before my walk, usually. I get up and go. Come home, stretch, log my miles and then breakfast. Two pieces of wheat toast with peanut butter, one banana, one light yogurt and one glass of Gatarade. Not real fancy, but it works.

  • Usually, I don't eat before morning exercise. If I do, it's just about 3 oz. of a light yogurt drink. Afterwards, I usually have 2% milk, oatmeal (or Cheerios) and a banana or two.

  • i walk my dogs first - feed/water and take care of them - then I sit down to breakfast - during the week it's honey bunches of oats with fresh blue berries and 1% milk (love it) or oatmeal with cranberries. On weekends, I brew a pot of coffee and eat an egg sandwich - or cereal.

  • Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, anytime of day so I save it for after my morning walk. But I will have a glass of OJ and two slices of toasted Italian bread and wait an hour then walk. I like to have something in my tummy before a workout.

  • I always have a cup of coffee and a glass of water when I first get up. If I am walking then I wait to eat breakfast until after I walk. I usually have two egg whites in an omelet and a half a yogurt.
