I'm sure I don't do anything unique - I try to have some fruit about an hour before a run, and then some milk afterwards. I keep reading that chocolate milk is the ideal post-run snack - gotta try that!
The hot season's over now, but I'd be keen to hear ideas about how to keep cool when running in heat. I tried wearing ice-cubes in a kerchief around my neck, with fairly good success. (but I looked odd, I'm sure).

By now you've probably found that chocolate milk is the best post-run drink. When you finish the run drink your normal water/sports drink to get re-hydrated but after 30 minutes or so there's nothing like refueling with a large glass or even a quart of rich chocolate milk.
