ok to run 2x/day?

I've been running in the morning, before light. By the end of the day I feel like I want to run again. I have a pilates class 2x/week but other nights is it ok to run again? I'm just doing the couch-to-5k program so it's not like it's intense training or anything.

  • Pay close attention to feedback from your body. I don't think there's necessarily anything "wrong" with running twice a day, except that it increases your chances of overtraining and injuring yourself. If there's a hint of weirdness from your knees or shins, I'd take it down a notch.

    If you still have energy, I would suggest an alternate workout in the evening, like biking, swimming, or rollerblading.

    Edit: Or better yet, take up weight lifting, too.
