Not a dumb question at all. I've been jonesing to do this ever since I got my Forerunner 305. I sent feedback and traded some e-mails with the developer and it appears they are considering how to best go about this. Hang in there, I suspect we'll see something in the future.

I hope so because for the past 2 weeks I haven't been able to upload my data. The Ant+ isn't working. I've tried re-installing everything, and un-pairing and re-pairing my 405cx and it still fails.

They sure need this! I like the interface and social element of the site, but frankly, if I can quickly upload my Garmin data on Strands and not here, strands it is. Even if I could manually import the data file, that would be sufficient in the interim.

I agree! Everything from my 405 gets uploaded automatically to GarminConnect and my PC, and it feels silly for me to re-enter it here every time..

I must say that I'm getting frustrated with the wait for Garmin uploads. Starting to look at other services like Strands.

I've been using SportTracks (under parallels) with my Garmin 705, which so far is the best combination. As much as the social aspects of dailymile are great, the functionality of sporttracks (trimp, sweet spot training, etc.) are unmatched. and yes i would pay for it if dailymile could get some of that functionality.

I spent a lot of time searching for a social site that takes Forerunner uploads. Then I realized that I'm ok with manual entry for now because it gets me to think about what was good and bad about the run.

The only thing stopping me from investigating the use of this site further is the lack of support for direct upload from my devices. I simply cannot be bothered with manual data entry.
I love the look of the site. It's so clean, bright and clearly well designed. I wait with bated breath for the ability to directly upload from Garmin devices - both ANT+ and USB connection. We have in our house 1 Edge 305, 1 FR 305 and 2 FR310XTs.
Until then, it's RunSaturday.com and SportTracks

Does anybody know if they are actually still working on Garmin support, or should we all just give up hope? I got a Garmin for Christmas and am going to get back into running. I was hoping to use DailyMile to log stuff but I don't know if I want to have to manually re-enter everything when I have no real problem with Garmin Connect.

I know the feeling,
Been using my 405 for over a year now..
Been uploading my runs to Garmin connect and Fetch...
I like the atmosphear and look fo this site but I know that if I start manually entering data in here I'll soon get bored after a few weeks and stop! :SWell... not done any runs this year... All the places I run are iced up and even the park runs have been cancled :(
May start logging them by hand and see how it goes.Mike

+1 for Garmin support. I'm not sure how you can really sell the site without support for uploads from these devices. If you tend to run/ride the same route, it's not a big deal to manually enter the route once I guess. That said, I have events that cover hundreds of miles that I record on my Garmin. I'm just not going to take the 30+ minutes to enter them in manually.

+1, I just joined after getting an invite from a friend. But if I can't upload from my Garmin, I suspect I'm not going to last very long here. GarminConnect logs my runs and rides - DailyMile could easily win me over if there was some way to import that data or upload directly, because GarminConnect has annoying limitations of its own and no real social features - DailyMile looks way better in that respect.

I've been uploading all my garmin 305 data to garmin connect the past 6 months and don't want to type it in here. I hope this site figures it out soon.

I get that sometimes with my 705 but I have better luck just doing one file at a time.
I use the Garmin Connect site to sync my device and then I download the GPX file that I then upload to DM.posted over 1 year ago | Report
