I spent a summer in Ireland and they have a great cider there called Bulmers that was great after coming back from a run. (I think it's called Magners in the rest of the UK and North America.) I've been drinking a lot of Lone Star down in Texas where it's so hot that after working out anything cold does the trick.
I'm going to see whether you can get any Marin brews in Texas. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until my next trip to California to try it.

I don't drink a lot of post-race brew right away, but nothing sounds better than a Fat Tire Amber Ale when you're really thirsty.

Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA. With 450 calories, and 20% ABV, it is one great post-race beer!

Definitely turn to the Alaskan Amber after a run. It's a funny thing about Marathoning... but it always makes me want to have a beer afterwards. I don't want to eat anything... just drink a beer. Ha!

Good to see I'm not the only drinker with a running problem on DailyMile... ;-)
After the marathon a couple weeks ago I walked right past all the PowerAde and water stations and went right to the Michelob truck. I don't recall what they poured me... But it was cold, it was wet, and after 26 miles, it hit the spot.

Well at least I didn't read a ton of Michelob ULTRA responses. Might as well drink more water after the race. Sometimes nothing can beat a Capital Amber or I'll have to say if a Lake Louie Tommy's Porter is available I'll drink two or tree of dem der beers.

Currently, I'm loving the Tyranena Bitter Woman IPA, but the bitterness can be a bit harsh on the back of the pallate. I would have to say that my all-time post-workout beer is Allagash White.

who on earth could stomach more powerade AFTER a marathon? that's the last thing i want to slam down my throat after 26.2. now, i will admit to loving the fact that the first time i ran salt lake city marathon they had ice cold milk at the finish....that rocked. after that, it was jacuzzi and beer.
