  • Nice idea! Wish I could backdate this to December 14th - my last day off from running :)

Thanks for setting this up Jill....

  • Great idea! I'll start as soon as my knee/foot heals. I've been wanting to run more regularly, and I can always do an easy 1 mile run around the lake on the off-days.

You're hard core, Steve! I'm impressed with that record so far!

I'm glad to have you participating Kitzzy! That was my thinking, I can always do an easy 1 mile loop (my neighborhood happens to be exactly 1 mile)!

  • I just moved downtown near a lake and it's exactly 1 mile around that! It may be just shy of it, but with the bit to and from the apt it'll work.

So, you say take a rest day if you need it, but we have to make it up by doing a double, right?

  • OK. I'm in! This sounds like a great challenge....

  • I'm doing training for duathlon, so would bike and elliptical count along with the runs?

Right, if you need to take a break, then definitely do that! Just do a double on another day. And for runs to count as doubles they need to be separated by at least an hour!

I'm thinking that elliptical would be a form of cross-training, not count as running. But we'd love to have you participate if you think you can swing it with your duathlon training!

  • Can I do a triple? Or just do a couple doubles? I have to fly to China (16 hour plane ride one-way) and then travel inland - about 28 hours straight of travel time. I'll need a day of rest, but, I can get an a.m., lunch, and p.m. run in to make up the lost time. Will that count?

Yes, triples will work. I'll add that to the rules!

The challenge is officially starting on Sunday, so that's when it will BE ON! At least for me, I'm just competing against myself... just to try something new!

  • Oh yes, forgot it was the 15th we were starting. My personal little streak is still going strong since December 14th - got a bit carried away.....

  • I'm in. Want to know if it's fair to "back date" my start to my own personal challenge of 1 mile every day? Don't worry ... I'm injured and it's only about 15 days.

    Happy Running.

Go ahead and back date or start whenever you want! I need to change the "rules" of the challenge... now it's just open to whoever wants to do it on their own timeline. Just a fun motivator!
