I first ran Hood to Coast in 2006 and loved it ever since. I ran it again in 2007 and 2008, and 99% will be running it every year since I am running with my hubby's team and he happens to be the team captain (lucky me!). I consider this relay as a slumber running party without the slumber part. ;-)
Each runner runs a total of 3 legs and covers a total distance between 13.55 miles to 19.61 miles. Things that I look forward to this event are the van decorations where you'll see some that are hillarious, boring and some have sexual innuendos (NOTE: watch out for the van that give away olives, they're van has a sign that says "ask us for free olives."); rows and rows of runners sleeping all over the place at the exchange points; running at 3 o'clock in the morning where it's pitch black; crossing the finish line; wearing the medal; group photo and of course, binge eating!
Eventhough porta potties are crucial in any running events, I'm not sure if I look forward to seeing the rows of porta potties! =P
