My hair is just usally up in a ponytail with my hat on. At the end of the race my hair is drenched in sweat.

I avoid running behind ponytails... they whip around spraying sweat everywhere. Gross, I know, but FYI :)

Ha ha - I never thought of it from a guy's perspective. I have really ultra curly hair though... does that make a difference with the sweat factor?

I wear mine in a psudeo bun, basically a messy ponytail. I have to wear a visor, hats make my head too hot! I can't handle the full on ponytail swishing behind my head. It feels funny. UNLESS I have a running hat on and it's a low pony on my shoulders. I'm weird. :)

Nature seems to be taking care of the hair issue for me.

I have very short hair so, 'putting it up' is never an issue. However, forgetting to wear a hat...well, that is messy!

I have to wear mine in a pony tail. My hair is too long to put up in a messy bun (it bounces out and around and drives me CRAZY) or I'd do that. :-) Usually one section pulled back on top too so the hair band doesn't pull any tiny hairs as it slides!

Not sure if any of you have a Lululemon around you, but they have the best headbands to hold back hair. It has a sticky part to it so it doesn't slip.

I have a very specific hair ritual. I have long, thick wavy hair and I can't stand it whipping in a pony tail or bouncing in a bun. I also can't stand when the pony tail feels loose and I have to tighten it (I'm kind of ridiculous about those little things bothering me during a run). So I kind of do a combination of both.
I put my hair in a low to mid-level pony tail, using an elastic that's probably too tight to be considered healthy for my hair. Then I kind of make a faux-bun using a running hat, not pulling too much hair through because then it will whip and/or become an actual pony tail.
Yes I'm crazy, but I find the fewest little, silly distractions I have while running, the better!
