For some workouts, the focus is staying within a given speed range and for others it is staying within a given heart rate zone. So I added a custom display with time, heart rate and distance.

It all depends of what type of training you are doing. Speed and heart rate would be priority for me because by controlling both you are controlling how hard you push all the time. That putts you in desired frame of effort. Whatever combination you choose, I think that heart rate should be there.
