I would agree. I love this site but LogThatRun.com gives you a calendar view so you can add your schedule. I love being able to access when I'm on the road. I hope to see something similar here soon.

I put my training schedule in Google Calendar. I can access it everywhere, and share it.

in reply to what Peter H. said:I put my training schedule in Google Calendar. I can access it everywhere, and share it. Peter
Thanks. Peter. That's what I ended up doing. Happy new year.

I think this is an awesome idea as well. Personally, I was thinking about great this option would be for motivation. I don't quite understand what the point of motivating someone is if they've already done the run.
I'd like to send my friends reminders that they've been missing runs on their schedule.

I agree! I think this is the only functionality this site lacks of.

Expanding on Phil's reminders idea would be my desire to see a basic calendaring/reminder engine that allows you input whatever you want to be reminded upon from DM. Need a little motivation to remember your extra special LSD is coming up mm/dd/yyyy: post the plan on DM, set a reminder for selected date, and then get back to training so you don't have to worry about it. Building the reminder engine under a calendar platform could tie in to posting training plans as well, and reminders could be set for any particular training item one cared to set up. Additionally, being able to set up reminders for your friends events, special training plans, races, etc., would be a killer addition as we could all then be much more prepared to provide motivation when reminded that so-n-so is doing the such-n-such race this coming weekend.

I think this would be a great feature. I use Google Calendar, too, but it would be great to move it here instead as I love this site!

I use the New York Times marathon calendar to build a training plan that is an ics file, which I then import into google calendar (and then also to my ical calendar on the mac).
Sure would be nice to have that feature in DM.

Guys, look at what the Nike+ site did. I would love to see something similar here... Sort of like a virtual coach. You sign up for a program like "Train for a 5k" (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and it puts your scheduled workouts on a calendar. Then as you enter the workouts in DailyMile those workouts get checked off on the calendar.
To really improve upon what Nike+ does, give people the ability to create their own programs, and also account for sick/missed days (if I get the flu and miss a run, shift the calendar forward X days).

I think the ability to enter a training schedule would be awesome! That way when you look at your workout profile, you can see your completed workouts as well as your future expected workouts. Obviously the future workouts would have to be designated a different color or effect (maybe a ghostly appearance).
I don't use google calendar, but I have all of my schedules in excel sheets.
