Surprise! New Features!

posted over 3 years ago | Report

Suddenly I see a whole slew of new features. Did anyone else get an announcement of those? Among the things I noticed were the addition of seconds to time. You can now classify yourself ("athlete" seems to be the default). And words are being put into my mouth using the time and miles and smiley faces to start the description of my page.

Oh, and as if we weren't all competitive enough, we can now compete to see who gets the most points within dailymile. I'm 3rd among cyclists, but with this post, I expect to move up.

;-)

  • Didn't notice the new features but MAN am I happy they finally added seconds. I was having to do some conversions to get my minutes into whole numbers (37.52 minutes, etc.) because it would then calculate the pace correctly. No more of that.

Overall I'm really happy with this batch of changes...now if either FF or Dailymile could just fix it so the JS lag wasn't unbearable on Linux...

  • Sorry this wasn't more clear. We posted some of the updates on the blog (http://blog.dailymile.com/2008/09/23/new-features-and-changes/), but we probably could have called out that specific post better.

Sometimes we'll make a few changes that are really part of a larger feature so we'll quietly release them until the whole feature is done and only announce it then.

Glad you guys like the changes! The features we add are in response to the feedback we get, so please keep it coming. We always like to hear how we can improve the site for you.
