The Paris Predictor

posted over 1 year ago | Report

Using data taken from the Paris half-marathon and marathon from 2008, 2009 and 2010 (half marathon takes place a month before the marathon), I've put together a calculator that will predict an average marathon time from one's half-marathon time measured during the training period.

You can use it here:

  • well that's a little depressing thought my half marathon time correlated a little closer to a BQ. oh well more speedwork for me

  • Actually, from what I understand, if you can maintain your HF time while logging crazy weekly miles, you'll be closer to the MacMillan predictor than your average predictor, built according to the data of average people. I think most people training for marathons log about 50km a week.
