Information on Myrtle Beach Marathon

asked over 2 years ago | Report

I am somewhat interested in running the Myrtle Beach Marathon but have a few questions for members who have ran it in the past.
1. What is the weather usually like around February?
2. This would be my first marathon and I assume it is mostly flat, would this be a good choice for a first timer?
3. How many people usually run in the event?

  • I've never run it, but most of those questions are answered on their website:

    1. High:61 Low:37

2.The highest course elevation is no more than 50 ft.

    3. Limit of 2500

In think this would be a nice choice for your first marathon: small, flat, and cool weather. Since it's at the beach, I'd say to expect some wind.

  • Hello Philip -

Having lived there - I'm going to attempt my first half marathon t that event.

Matthew is 100% right a bit of wind on the course (especially around Ocean Blvd) and its pretty much flat.

Best of luck - see you in Feb. Emma
